2019 Tour de Gem

League of Women Voters Greater Dayton Area

A Citizen is someone who contributes to a community.

At our highest moments and our lowest, when we feel most impressive and least, when we succeed and when we fail, we need to remember that being a good citizen has value in and of itself. ~ James Piltch

Everyone needs to participate in the political process for the process to work best for every citizen. Don’t let the divisiveness of today’s political climate keep you from the polls. On November 6th, your 2018 ballot will allow you to choose Ohio’s Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Senators, Members of Congress, State Representatives, County Officials and Judges. In this election, and every election, your vote matters.

The Institute for Civility in Government says…civility is claiming and caring for one’s identity, needs and beliefs without degrading someone else’s in the process. It is about disagreeing without disrespect and seeking common ground as a starting point for dialogue. Civility is a prerequisite for civic action….It is about making sure that everyone’s voice is heard and nobody’s is ignored. Now more than ever, there is a need for the unbiased, nonpartisan services provided by the League of Women Voters. The League has served the greater Dayton area for 98 years and is widely recognized as a strong and respected voter resource.

The League is solely funded by our members and community supporters. Please consider making a contribution now to this Team Page or to an individual League rider. Your contribution will help:

• ensure that the League can keep the lights on and the doors open as an unbiased voter resource for all
• provide free community programs on issues and public policy
• promote informed participation in government and encourage citizen advocacy

Every dollar of your contribution stays in our community to support your local League. Our country’s future rests in the hands of an informed electorate exercising their right to vote. Your vote matters!
